The Chairman of the Akwa Ibom State Primary Healthcare Development Agency, Dr. Martin Akpan, has commended Governor Udom Emmanuel, for his passion for the development of the health sector and interest in the well-being of the people of the state.

Dr. Akpan, who made the commendation in his office when the National Primary Healthcare Under One Roof Scorecard 5 Assessment Team visited him, remarked that Governor Emmanuel, has an undying love for his people, a development he noted, has motivated the Governor to provide world-class equipment at all health facilities in the state.

The Akwa Ibom State Primary Healthcare Development Agency Boss, said the Governor, whom he described as a Visionary Leader, has enhanced the platforms for the implementation of Primary HealthCare Under One Roof in the state to enable the citizens have access to quality and affordable healthcare services in every Ward in the state.

While giving recognition to the tireless efforts of the Commissioner for Health, Dr. Dominic Ukpong, in the magnificent transformation in the health sector, Dr. Akpan, thanked the 4 member Assessment Team for their painstaking tour to assess Primary HealthCare Under One Roof implementation in the state just as he solicited the National Primary Healthcare Development Agency for constant technical support.

Earlier, the Leader of the National Primary HealthCare Under One Roof Scorecard 5 Assessment Team, Dr. Uche Emeri, while debriefing the Management of the Akwa Ibom State Primary Healthcare Development Agency, expressed satisfaction on the level of implementation of the Primary HealthCare Under One Roof policy in the state adding that though the Akwa Ibom State Primary Healthcare Development Agency is barely one year, its achievements is laudable.

Dr. Eberi, who explained that the Assessment Team was in the state to assess the Akwa Ibom State Primary Healthcare Development Agency Governing Board, Local Government Health Authority Management Team and Primary Health Centres, commended Governor Emmanuel, the Commissioner for Health, Dr. Dominic Ukpong and the Management of the Akwa Ibom State Primary Healthcare Development Agency for the success story of the Agency even as she asserted her trust that the level of the implementation of the policy will be sustained.

Present at the event were members of the governing Board of the Agency, the Executive Secretary, Dr. (Mrs) Eno Attah, Director of Planning, Research and Statistics, Mr. Lawrence Obo and members of the National Primary HealthCare Under One Roof Assessment Team amongst others.
