To mark World Cancer Day 2020, the Medical Women’s Association of Nigeria (MWAN), Akwa Ibom State Branch held a Cancer Awareness Walk & Pink Charity Ball. MWAN provides free screening services for breast cancer and cervical cancer and follow-up care for cancer patients in Nigeria.
Representatives from various Ministries, Agencies, and Organizations including the Executive Secretary of the Akwa Ibom State Primary Healthcare Dev. Agency (AKSPHCDA), Dr. (Mrs) Eno Attah, and other supporters joined the cancer awareness walk starting from Ibom Plaza, Uyo to support a cancer-free society, and to bring awareness for early detection of cancer. A Pink Charity Ball/Inauguration was held at Helemah Event Centre to host partners and donors and inaugurate newly elected. executives.
