With respect to the various projects in Akwa Ibom State sponsored by USAID, namely SHOPS PLUS, Breakthrough Action, and Global Health Supply Chain-Procurement and Supply Management (GHSC-PSM), a team from USAID and CDC visited Akwa Ibom State to meet with stakeholders from the State Ministry of Health, including the Akwa Ibom State Primary Healthcare Development Agency (AKSPHCDA) as well as implementing partners to conduct field visits. Through these projects, USAID is providing technical support to Akwa Ibom State Family Planning and Malaria programs.
The Chairman of the Agency, Dr. Martin Akpan, appreciated all USAID-funded development partners in the State for collaborating with the Agency to provide quality, accessible and affordable health care service to Akwa Ibom people. He commended all implementing partners including SHOPS Plus, GHSC-PSM, and Breakthrough ACTION Nigeria as he called for the expansion of their services and interventions across the state.
